Ambassador Program Helps Foil School Bombing Plot

The "Code of Silence" was broken at El Dorado High School in northern California where the Safe School Ambassadors program was started in 2002. Administrators credit the program with creating a climate that allowed a student who learned of two other students' plans for a Columbine-like attack to report that information to the school resource officer. NBC Today Show

Out of all the outstanding violence prevention programs being used in America's schools, the Safe School Ambassadors program was selected to be profiled on the April 20, 2004 episode of the NBC Today show, commemorating the 5th anniversary of the Columbine High School tragedy.
